Still Watchin' All the Girls

Still Watchin' All the Girls

The subject of this painting was a result of a trip to Israel.  We were spending our last day in Jaffa.  While we were milling around I saw this gentleman sitting on the bench.  I think the first thing that caught my eye was how much he resembled my own father.  Then I noticed his behavior and the resemblance increased.  He was really looking over the passing ladies.  As this woman approached, she seemed to not notice him at all.  Then she flipped her stoll over her shoulder and elegantly strolled past.  Looked like flirtation by both parties to me!  I think the gentleman’s long johns sticking out of his pants legs makes him even more endearing.
